Invent a drink is Home Bar Hero's AI cocktail generator. Instead of naming a drink, you pick a spirit and a taste, and the AI invents a brand-new cocktail to match, names it, and writes out the full recipe with real ingredients and proper ratios.
How It Works
You get six tastes, one tap each:
- Bright and zingy (citrus, shaken, wakes you up)
- Spirit-forward (stirred, strong, slow)
- Tropical (pineapple, coconut, tiki)
- Bitter and bold (Campari, amaro, vermouth)
- Sweet and creamy (dessert in a glass)
- Smoky (peat, mezcal, fire)
Tap whichever one your mood is. Pick a base spirit if you have one in mind, or leave it on "surprise me." Add an optional line in your own words ("something for a rainy Sunday"). Then tap Invent it.
A second later you have a complete cocktail: a name, a short description, the ingredient list with measurements, the method, and the glass. Not a single-spirit pour, a real, balanced drink built the way a bartender would build it. Do not love it? Invent another for a fresh take, or tap a different taste.
Use Only the Bottles You Own
Here is the part that makes it genuinely useful instead of just fun.
Invent a drink always composes your cocktail from the bottles already in your inventory (plus assumed basics like ice, water, and common garnishes), and it checks the finished drink bottle by bottle against what you own. No shopping trip, no substitutions you cannot make. The AI knows your shelf and works within it.
Because Home Bar Hero already tracks your bottles with smart ingredient hierarchy, owning bourbon counts as whiskey, owning a blanco counts as tequila, the generator has a real, accurate picture of what you can actually pour tonight.
Added August 2026: that picture now includes substitutions. Matching knows when a bottle you own can reasonably stand in for one you don't, so the generator has more to work with than a strict ingredient-for-ingredient check would allow.
Name It, Save It, Make It Yours
Every generated drink comes with an original name, and you can rename it with a tap or re-roll for another. When you find one you love, save it and it drops straight into your cocktails, right alongside the classics and community recipes. Share it if you want, and it shows up as your creation.
How It's Different From a Generic AI Chatbot
You could ask a generic chatbot to invent a cocktail. But it does not know your bar, it does not enforce real ratios, and it hands you a wall of text. Invent a drink is built for the job:
